String of Turtles is one of those houseplants that is sure to bring on smiles. Small round leaves start out with dark patterns that look very turtle-shell like, and as the leaves age, fade but retain the distinctive venation. A well-behaved, pet-friendly tropical plant, String of Turtles stays low and trails up to 18 inches. As with all peperomia, this variety prefers to be watered thoroughly only when the soil is dry and appreciates an occasional misting when the heat kicks on. String of Turtles works well in containers with houseplants that have similar needs and will thrive in well-lit rooms.
