The more indirect light, the more intense the color of this Burgundy Rubber Plant. Large, naturally shiny leaves are eye-catching!

CloseThis Burgundy Rubber Plant catches the eye, even when small. Large, shiny leaves are tinged with burgundy, and the central veins are a distinct red. Provide as much indirect light as possible for the best color; it will grow in lower light but leaves become more green. Given time, this rubber plant can reach 6 - 10 feet, but you can top the stems, forcing out new shoots from the bottom. This plant prefers to be on the drier side and looks its best when its leaves are dusted periodically. Resist the urge to mist the leaves - that will only cause spotting and then you'll HAVE to clean them!
