Oh the things we can trim!

It's trimming time! (One of my favorite garden activities.) Here I go over some of the key details to architectural trimming that come to mind. In the end, its about achieving sharp crisp lines without any burned edges for your garden creations. That is except for when it comes to trimming your hanging baskets.

Hi Leita! The best time to trim azaleas is just after it finishes blooming. Hope that helps!

Hi Charlie! Oh good! Clipping, I’ve found to be sort of a zen thing once the shears are fully prepared.

Edward Scissorhands lives! You and Kathy—really do love that pruning and trimming. It does look amazing. I love the chatty neighbors too. We are so lucky to have such a visually stunning and vibrant neighbor at The Garden Corner. I see hikers and dog-walkers and baby-walkers strolling around the nursery. We are so lucky we can shop and buy and let it sit until we can race home for the car to come pick up the bounty. How convenient is that?? All the free oxygen and birdsong and color—such a special place for the neighborhood. Great video and we know you had fun doing it!

BTW, I got a chat from a coworker last week who wanted me to tell you how much help you were regarding trimming her ferns (how timely was that on the cusp of your doing a trimming video?). She said “I watched a fern tutorial and he helped me trim my fern back in February.” She was browsing the web for help and hit on one of your videos. We had talked before about your videos and willingness to answer questions. She said I saw him and thought “I know him!” And watched and trimmed her fern. She wanted me to make sure and thank you for having videos and other helpful things out there for those not fortunate enough to live in Paradise (and close to TGC). All the way over in Louisiana!

    Rebel (and trim) on!
