It's sort of like being grateful but with a bit of a different twist. I'm really working on recognizing those fleeting moments of joy that can come to me suddenly like a ray of sunshine and often disappear as quickly. This moment of joy? It happened to me while I was in the garden.
My wow is Senecio ‘angel wings’, now 3 years in my garden. Slow growing, My eyes always goes to them, day or night. It’s the ‘wow’ in my garden. Tho surrounded with color, this is my fav.
Tho frost tender, I’ve covered them with cloche’s in winter. This year their larger than my cloches.
Enjoy your weekly tips very much.
Hi Linda! Wildlife, in all its forms, can be so entertaining! (if we’re paying attention.) Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lori! I agree! The blooms on a yucca are something to behold. They seem to come out of nowhere and then are so confident and bold when they do.
My moment of joy this year was when my variegated yucca bloomed after the second year as the friend I got the start from said hers had never bloomed. Of course that’s just one of many joys I have had in my garden.
We recently moved into a brand new home with minimal plants so far. We put up 2 hummingbird feeders and low and we have 2 frequent visitors. Yesterday a yellow finch visited our sunflower plant.
Hi Rick! Life in general, is most interesting isn’t it?
Hi Craig! I so agree! Passion Flower is astonishing in its complicated intricacy.
I experience frequent moments of joy when I realize that I don’t deserve anything, but the Lord gives me everything I need when I need it most. That even happens witnessing God’s creation and creativity with the abundance of plants in your nursery.
My moment of joy came from observing the Passion Flower Vine and the amazing intricate blooms that were showing me what they could look like.
Haha Carol! For me too!
Dot, that was inspiring. (Thank you!)
My moment of joy happened when I spotted you at our “Garden Faire” in McMinnville on a rainy cold day. It was like running into an old friend!
A super moment of joy was when I came upon a hellebore bloom peeking up out of the snow in my yard. I didn't know it was there because we had moved into this house in the fall and I was too busy to notice everything in our new yard. The contrast of the white snow and the purplish bloom was so unexpected that it gave me a rush of joy to remember how the seasons are always evolving, no matter what we are doing.
