CloseGardeners who dismiss barberries as a garden choice because they are deciduous are missing out on a great foundation plant. 'Sunsation Barberry' is a dense, fine-leafed shrub topping out at four feet, and can be left as is or pruned as desired. This variety's bright yellow, orange tinged foliage adds wonderful color and contrast to the spring and summer garden, while small red berries dress bare branches in the fall and winter. 'Sunsation Barberry' may be grown in container planters, as a garden specimen for smaller spaces, or as a low hedge.
