CloseThe list of adjectives describing 'Firehouse white' verbena is long and impressive. Deer-resistant and drought-, salt-, pollution-, and heat-tolerant, with long-lasting, pure white blooms. What that means is this sun-loving annual will thrive in coastal gardens, xeriscapes, parking strips, and the hottest spots in the yard, be it in the ground or in container planters and hanging baskets. Mounding to about 10 inches tall, 'Firehouse White' verbena can spread/trail up to two feet, given well-draining soil, regular watering and fertilizing, and all-day sun (meaning minimum six hours). Perhaps the only drawback to this vigorous annual is that removing spent flowers will encourage even more blooms while keeping it looking neat and tidy, but honestly, we find the task to be relaxing and ultimately, very rewarding.
