An attractive evergreen ornamental for knot gardens or for those who enjoy growing their own herbs, in the ground or in container planters.
Available in store
CloseFrench thyme is the variety most commonly used in cooking, and 'Dot Wells' will not disappoint the most discerning culinary chefs. Sprigs may be picked as needed throughout the growing season. This variety holds its own in the ornamental department as well, forming low, attractive mounds from six to 12 inches tall and up to 12 inches wide, perfect for knot gardens, borders, container planters and even hanging baskets. Pink flowers appear in the summer and may continue into the fall, attracting bees and butterflies. Consider planting 'Dot Wells' along the border of vegetable gardens, as it acts as a natural bug repellent against some garden pests. A light shearing in the fall will keep thyme dense and tidy, but don't cut into the woody part. The cuttings may be used in the kitchen, fresh or dried.
