This begonia has all the flash of "regular" tuberous begonias but can withstand the sun as well as the shade - winner!
Available in store
CloseTuberous begonias produce such glorious flowers and perform so well all season long, it's no wonder that someone decided sunny gardens needed a version of this tender perennial. Solar begonias have been bred to grow in the sun as well as they do in the shade, providing the same flamboyant show-off blooms from late spring up until freeze. Thick fleshy leaves form a mound about a foot tall and wide, and serves well in container planters, window boxes, and hanging baskets when a blast of color is desirable. While solar begonias can handle the sun, they do need regular water and shouldn't be allowed to dry out.
