Neither a moss nor a fern, 'Gold Tips' Spikemoss adds contrasting color and texture to indoor planters. Place it at the edge of a pot or hanging basket and allow it to trail over the sides. Given adequate water and light, its feathery foliage stays low and fills in nicely, making it a perfect candidate for terrariums. Unlike many tropical houseplants, selaginella needs consistent water, and should be watered thoroughly when the surface soil is dry. It can be grown outdoors in the shade during the summer, but may perform best if grown indoors year-round.
