In the same family as Snake plants and just as tough, 'Silver Steel' forms irregular rosettes and stays much lower than its cousins.

CloseIndoor gardeners appreciate Snake Plants for their ability to withstand neglect and lower lighting, but some find the vertical profile unappealing. 'Silver Steel' may be a welcome option with leaves similar in texture and coloring to the vertical varieties but in rosette form. In low light settings, snake plants will essentially maintain their size and shape with minimal growth. Given more light and patience, 'Silver Steel' will eventually form a foot tall rosette that is eight inches or more in width. Sansevierias don't mind being root-bound, need deep but infrequent watering, and generally thrive on benign neglect; however, cleaning the leaves with a damp cloth periodically will keep them looking their best and will enhance their ability to purify the air.
