CloseYou want a houseplant that is low maintenance, can handle a darker environment, and looks gorgeous all the time. Enter the Gold Flame snake plant, aka Gold Flame Mother-in-Law's Tongue. Smaller in stature than other snake plants (less than two feet tall) Gold Flame is more vase shaped than other totally vertical varieties. The leaves are also broader with intense golden yellow bands mixed with green. Hint - the better the lighting (natural or artificial), the brighter the variegation. Like other sansevieras, Gold Flame would rather be too dry than be too wet, sort of likes cramped toes, and does an admirable job of ridding the air of toxic gases. If you already have some snake plants, it would not be redundant to get Gold Flame. Same family but a unique look.
