CloseWhen all our summer baskets are in full bloom at the nursery, the hummingbirds are permanent residents, often buzzing visitors as they walk through "their" territory. A clear favorite of our feathered racers, however, are any of the salvias. 'Blue by You' meadow sage is a spring-to-fall bloomer with rich blue flower stalks that stand up to a foot tall, and are excellent cut flowers. This particular perennial is an early bloomer, sending up flowers almost two weeks before other varieties. 'Blue by You' salvia works well in rock and cottage gardens, borders, mass plantings, and container planters, growing up to two feet tall and about as wide. As is true of perennial salvias, 'Blue by You' will die back in the fall, only to reappear again in the spring.
