CloseRaspberries are one of those berries that taste best when fresh-picked. 'Boyne' raspberries were developed in Canada specifically for the northern climate, producing large, somewhat sweet berries in June or July. All-day sun will produce the tastiest berries, and be sure to provide support for canes that will grow three to five feet tall, and spread two to three feet wide. 'Boyne' raspberries flower and fruit on second year canes, so don't expect a crop until one to two years after planting. As to maintenance, a mnemonic to help remember what to prune, “After fruiting, if the cane is green, let it be seen, if the cane is brown, cut it down."
