Zinnia Mix 'Cut And Come Again'

While it's wonderful to have a garden full of flowers in the summer, it's a treat to be able to bring color into the home as well. Zinnias have long been a favorite cut flower and 'Cut and Come Again' are stellar, with longer stems and warm shades of pink, scarlet, salmon, orange, yellow, and cream. Pinching the tips of foliage when first planting zinnias will create a bushier mound, 18 to 30 inches tall and up to 10 inches wide, and yes, sometimes one must sacrifice those first buds! Flowers will come on strong starting in the summer and cutting them for bouquets will only encourage more blooms right up until fall freeze.

FYI, zinnia flower petals are edible as long as they are pesticide-free and can be added to salads or cooked dishes. They are slightly bitter and may be better used as garnishes for dessert trays or charcuterie boards.
