Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Hardy White'

The pure white flowers of this 'Hardy White' calla lily, rising above the glossy green, arrow-shaped leaves, is truly a striking image. Tolerant of boggy wet soil, calla lilies need regular watering to look their best, and generally do better with shade during the hottest time of the day. Those upright, cup-shaped flowers add a pop of color to shadier spots of the garden, but require some sun to bloom consistently. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, 'Hardy White' calla leaves appear in late winter and may even wilt in a frost, but fear not, they rebound nicely once the weather warms. Calla lilies are one of the longest lasting flowers once harvested, but don't cut the stems, simply pull the whole stem from the clump, then cut to size.
