Vitis spp. 'Einset Seedless' 1 Gallon

While most home gardeners grow grape vines for the fruit, they quickly realize what a statement piece they are once the vines take off in the spring. Large, heavily lobed green leaves can quickly cover a fence, arbor, or other support, hiding unsightly structures or providing a lush backdrop in the garden. Grape vines will begin to bear clusters of fruit after two to three years in the ground, given lots of sun and regular water until established. 'Einset' seedless is a mid-sized red table grape with a strawberry-like flavor, and ripens a bit earlier than other varieties. Drought tolerant once established and cold hardy down to -15 degrees, 'Einset Seedless' is fairly low maintenance with few issues with garden pests or disease. Prune the vines back in winter to keep them under control.
Footnote: grape leaves are just as edible as the fruit. Use fresh, young, unblemished grape leaves to make dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) by first blanching them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then plunging them into ice water. Grape leaves may be also used when fermenting pickles. Simply add a handful of fresh grape leaves to the crock for crisp, crunchy pickles.
