Tradescantia fluminensis 'Yellow Zebra'

To quote Shakespeare, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," and that applies to this tradescantia. Call it 'Yellow Zebra' (invalid!) or 'Yellow Hill' (approved name), this tradescantia provides a striking combination of yellow, green and cream leaves on trailing stems, year-round indoors or during the summer months in the outdoor shade garden. Its unusual coloring is a standout, even among the tradescantias, and if it happens to bloom, you'll get a bonus. Don't hesitate to use this as a trailer in outdoor summer shade baskets, but it will freeze if left outside. Fortunately, tradescantias move easily to the indoor garden, either by transplanting them to their own pots or simply take cuttings before freezing weather hits. Lots of indirect light will maintain the best coloring.
