Lately, we've been experimenting with growing the large stems of houseplants such as monsteras or trailing philodendrons in water, and this tall planter would be an attractive option for such experimentation. Add large rocks to the pot that will anchor the stems (even the bare roots of a plant) then add water. Some plants take well to this treatment, and just need a change of water periodically and a low-dose of fertilizer. Otherwise, this is an attractive way to dress up plain plastic-potted plants (say that three times, fast) or use as a vase for fresh or dried arrangements.
