Product Description
Product Description
We appreciate Hens and Chicks for their naturally tough nature. Drought tolerant once established, they grow best in gravelly, less fertile soil, and can take the summer heat with ease. 'Centennial' will take on greater red shades when grown in the sun, with green centers showing off the tiny hairs that line the leaves. Producing lots of offsets/chicks in the spring and summer, 'Centennial' will spread out slowly. Flowers in the late summer and fall will attract pollinators, but they are also the death knell for the "hen," which will then make room for all the chicks to grow. This is a handsome option for container planters and hanging baskets, especially when combined with other succulents.
