It's no wonder that this stonecrop was a recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit back in 2006. Large flower clusters top thick upright stems in late summer into fall, when most summer annuals have disappeared. 'Mr. Goodbud' sedum is tough, handling heat and low water areas like a pro, but well-draining soil is a must, especially in the winter months. This is an excellent choice for container planters and hanging baskets, as well as garden borders and walkways. Pollinators love the flowers and birds will appreciate the seed heads in winter. Remaining flower clusters can be cut down to the ground early spring before the new growth emerges.
