Strawberry Begonia, aka Strawberry Geranium, is cute enough to brighten an indoor garden and sturdy enough to live outside in container planters, hanging baskets, or as a ground cover in shade gardens. Evergreen indoors, this saxifrage is semi-evergreen outside, possibly dying back completely in the winter, then returning in the spring. Staying low and spreading up to 24 inches, Saxifraga stolonifera 'Tricolor' is a natural for hanging baskets, and it also works well in indoor terrariums. This specimen has spring/summer blooms and may bloom indoors, given the right conditions. If it will reside inside year-round, give it ample indirect light to maintain the wonderful variegation, and water thoroughly when the top soil is dry.
