Product Description
Rockfoil is one of those ground covers that is often mistaken for other plants. Its tight dense rosettes may at first glance look like a succulent or a clump of armeria, though its fresh green color and texture bring Irish Moss to mind. In a class of its own, this saxifrage does best as a ground cover in areas with protection from the hot afternoon sun, growing three to six inches tall and spreading up to a foot wide. Small, creamy white flowers veined in green emerge in late spring to early summer, sometimes covering the greenery. Hardy to -15 degrees, it is allegedly evergreen, though it may suffer a bit during the winter. Use as a ground cover in the shade garden, along borders, or in container planters and hanging baskets.
