When it comes to springtime fragrance, Himalayan Sweet Box is right up there with winter blooming daphne and it has similar growing requirements. A low-growing evergreen with lance-shaped leaves, Himalayan Sweet Box does best in shade gardens with morning sun or all-day dappled sun. Planted in the ground along borders, it can grow up to four feet wide while staying around two feet tall. Sweet box takes well to container planters and hanging baskets as well, as it prefers well draining soil.  
Footnote: don't confuse this with Sarcococca ruscifolia. They're both shade-loving evergreens, but ruscifolia grows into a much larger shrub.
