Salvia 'Pure White'

There are so many different varieties of salvia, one almost needs a scorecard to keep track of the various characteristics. Some salvias are tender perennials, meaning that many Pacific NW gardeners treat them as annuals while others are wiling to bestow some TLC on said plants so they return the following year. 'Pure White' salvia falls into that category and we typically treat them as showy annuals. As is true of several tender salvias, 'Pure White' grows fast and can get quite large - almost two feet tall and wide - with erect white flower spikes that attract pollinators and hummingbirds. Elegant as the "thriller" in an all-white planter, 'Pure White' adds drama when mixed with cool colors, and pure fun in combination with oranges, reds, and pinks.
