A cousin of 'Hot Lips' salvia, this variety is just as tough and dependable but with lipstick pink flowers that hummingbirds love.
Product Description
Product Description
When folks ask for plants that will attract hummingbirds, salvias are at the top of the list. 'Lipstick' Autumn Sage (aka Texas sage due to its origins) is on par with its cousin, 'Hot Lips,' both noted for blooming from late spring right into the fall, and thus a favorite of hummingbirds and pollinators. 'Lipstick' has pink flowers on dark brown calyxes, adding a bit of sophistication to its looks, and like other salvias, has a slightly minty fragrance that is repellant to deer but appealing to humans. This variety will form a rounded mound, two to three feet tall and wide. A light shearing in late winter to early spring will keep it dense and tidy.
