Rudbeckia 'Rising Sun Chestnut Gold'

So many summer flowers are identified as Black-eyed Susans, it's sometimes less confusing to call this spectacular bloomer a Gloriosa Daisy. 'Rising Sun Chestnut Gold' produces large yellow and orange flowers with a dark, chestnut brown eye on stalks that can reach two feet tall. Cut flowers are long lasting, and cutting flowers for indoor use will encourage even more blooms on an already prolific plant. Allegedly deer-resistant, 'Rising Sun Chestnut Gold' brings pollinators into the summer garden. Technically a biennial that blooms the first year, this variety may not survive our Pacific NW winters. Leaving spent blooms on the plant over winter may encourage reseeding in the spring.
