Begonia masoniana 'Iron Cross'

Though the Iron Cross Begonia can be grown outdoors in the summer shade garden, it may fare better as a year-round houseplant. It prefers higher humidity than most begonias but don't mist the heavily textured leaves; water trapped in all the crevices will most likely cause the leaves to rot. Place the pot on a pebble-filled saucer that is filled halfway up the stones with water. The boldly patterned leaves are the main attraction, but dainty racemes of white flowers may bloom in the spring or summer, given enough indirect light.
