Product Description
We suspect that most indoor gardeners long for flowers periodically, and the success rate of getting indoor blooms can be spotty, depending upon the amount of light and general growing conditions. Primulina dryas, a member of the African violet family, produces lavender blooms on tall stalks, and if it's anything like its cousins (African violets and cape primroses), chances are good that you'll see flowers starting in the summer and into the fall. What makes this variety so eye-catching is its unique elongated, variegated leaves that are covered with a downy fuzz (like African violet foliage). A google search provides very little info as to the mature size of this specimen, though it's likely it will get no bigger than three to six inches tall and up to a foot wide. 'Primulina dryas,' sometimes known as "oak-nymph-leaved primulina" (no idea why), is a fun addition to any indoor garden, and is pet-friendly as well.
