Pinus contorta 'Chief Joseph' 3 Gallon

Looking at a 'Chief Joseph' Lodgepole Pine in the spring and summer, one would see an irregularly shaped, upright conifer with green needles. But when the temps drop and daylight shortens in the fall and winter, those same green needles turn a rich golden yellow color, lighting up an otherwise drab landscape. Consider planting this slow growing conifer in a large container planter where it will be visible in the fall and winter. Growing three to six inches a year, 'Chief Joseph' is generally six feet tall and four feet wide at the 10-year mark, and would make an excellent focal point for a smaller garden space.
