Pilea glauca 'Silver Sparkle'

There are many different varieties in the Pilea family with different coloring, shapes, and sizes. Silver Sparkle pilea has small, round, silvery green leaves on red stems, and trails beautifully from hanging baskets or provides a dense ground cover for indoor terrariums. A well-lit room will help keep this plant's sparkle, as will watering when the surface soil is dry to the touch. If the stems become too long, consider clipping a section off and rooting it in water or in soil. You can also poke a hole in the existing planter and pop the stem in. Pileas are pet-friendly but in the case of Silver Sparkle, cats may find the danglins stems too much a temptation, and may suffer from the attention.
