Physocarpus 'Center Glow'

Not especially well known, Ninebark has a different look for each season, from lush, stunning foliage from spring until fall, to its unusual exfoliating bark that is apparent in the winter. In fact, its common name of Ninebark is derived from the layers of peeling bark, similar to birches, that range in color from tan to red-brown hues. Flat clusters of white flowers emerge from pink buds in late spring to summer, that then turn into red berries in the fall. Foliage that emerged a rosy red in spring matures into brilliant scarlet leaves as the temperatures drop.

'Center Glow' will eventually grow into a large mound, anywhere from four to eight feet tall and wide, creating a perfect habitat for local wildlife, while also providing year-round human interest in the garden.
