Gardeners are often attracted to the dramatic, sword-like foliage of New Zealand flax, without realizing how big some cultivars can get. 'Duet' is a petite version, topping out around two feet tall and wide, providing year-round color and vertical interest. Add it to a large container planter or hanging basket, or place in the middle of garden borders as a foundation plant.
Hardy down to 10 degrees, 'Duet' may suffer leaf damage in extreme winter weather; simply cut back the damaged leaves in early spring to make way for new foliage.
