Named after the Chocó rainforest from which it comes, Philodendron El Choco Red has velvety soft, heart-shaped leaves that emerge a striking red color, then gradually turn a lush green, sometimes retaining traces of red on their undersides. This species is a climber, so provide a moss pole or some other support, as it can grow four to six feet tall. If allowed to climb, the leaves may grow bigger than if left to trail. As is true of most philodendrons, El Choco Red is not pet-friendly, but it is an air purifier.
