Philodendron cordatum

Although the grower identified this specimen as Philodendron cordatum, there's a good chance that it is actually a Philodendron hederaceum. Botanically two different plants with different characteristics, this specimen by any name is an attractive, low-fuss houseplant that can climb when given support or trail from a hanging basket. This all-green variety will grow best in a well-lit room, but it can handle lower light - it may just grow more slowly. Keep this philodendron out of the mouths of pets and small humans, as the leaves can cause gastric distress. On the flip side, philodendrons are great air purifiers, removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the air. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry, and if the stems get too long, clip them to the desired length and pop the cuttings in water to start more plants.
