Philodendron bipinnatifidum x selloum (Ring of Fire)

'Ring of Fire' philodendron is a striking indoor plant that may eventually reach eight feet in height with a spread of four to six feet, with appropriate support. This is a slow grower and is relatively easy to care for, given ample indirect light, deep but infrequent watering, and higher humidity than that normally found in the home. If one has more than one tropical houseplant, it may be worth investing in an electric humidifier, but barring that, consider placing the pot on a pebble-filled saucer with water just barely covering the pebbles.
The leaves are not uniform in variegation and can grow to be two feet in length. Appropriate lighting is key to maintaining the beautiful coloring; too dark a room may cause the plant to revert to all green.
