Pepper 'Purple Beauty' 4 Inch

This 'Purple Beauty' sweet pepper may be worth growing if only for the novelty of the having purple peppers. A good reason to grow this pepper is that it contains anthocyanins, the same health-boosting antioxidants found in red wine and other purple foods. Although the outside turns a deep purple, the inside remains green, and may be a conversation-starter on appetizer trays.
As with all peppers, give 'Purple Beauty' as much sun and heat as possible. Bell pepper aficionados often recommend heating up the soil prior to planting by placing black plastic over the garden plot about a week before putting in the pepper plants. Other options are to plant them where they'll get reflected heat off a wall or fence, or putting a heat trapping device around the plant, such as plastic-wrapped cages or walls-of-water.
