Product Description
Product Description
Peonies have been a well-loved element of gardens for centuries but the Itoh peonies only came into being in 1948 when Toichi Itoh, a Japanese nurseryman, crossed tree peonies with herbaceous varieties. The resulting hybrids have large blooms on sturdy stems that don't require staking, and stay around three feet tall and wide. 'Gordon E. Simonson' has exceptionally large, semi-double flowers that emerge in late spring to early summer, in an eye-catching shade of fuchsia. Small enough to live in large container planters, this peony can also dress up garden borders - just be sure it gets enough sun to maximize blooms.
