Oxalis regnellii

Many seasoned gardeners curse oxalis as an invasive garden weed, but it makes a great houseplant, especially in areas that are colder than Zone 8, such as the Portland Metro area. This Lucky Green Shamrock oxalis sports dainty white (sometimes pink) flowers in the spring and summer. The triangular leaflets fold up at night then open during the day, creating a mound about six inches tall.
Oxalis may start to die back in the summer or fall. When that happens, stop watering the plant, cut back the dead foliage, and place in a cool, shaded location for two to three months. Move it back into a brighter location and start watering the pot after this rest period. New growth should appear and your Lucky Green Shamrocks will return for another season.
