Nephrolepis exaltata 'Compacta'

Few house plants are as fresh and exuberant as a healthy Boston Fern, including this smaller cultivar ‘Compacta.’ Its shorter fronds are a bit more upright compared to ‘Bostoniensis, and they create a dense rounded mound. A well-lit room, regular misting to raise the humidity, and watering thoroughly when the surface soil is dry will keep this fern happy. Cat owners may wish to hang this air-purifying fern to keep the temptingly fluffy fronds out of reach, if only to protect the fern. Boston ferns are non-toxic to pets, but indiscriminate chewing will mar its good looks.
