Product Description
We sell Lemon Catmint on the herb table, though truthfully, most home gardeners grow it for cat consumption, not human consumption. Yes, the leaves can be dried to make a light, lemony tea, but really, what's more fun than watching a favorite kitty enjoy fresh sprigs of catmint? This is a vigorous perennial, growing two to three feet tall and possibly as wide, and has beautiful violet blue flower spikes starting in late spring. A shearing after the initial blooms helps keep the plant more compact, and kitties will love the clippings. Consider placing a cage or teepee of bamboo stakes around Lemon Catmint when first planted so exuberant cats don't flatten the plant before it can grow. Catmint does die back in the winter, so doting cat owners may want to make a final harvest before a hard freeze.
