Split-leaf Philodendron isn't technically a philodendron, but it is as user-friendly as its cousin when it comes to growing indoors. Without sufficient indirect light, Monstera's leaves may not split or will become leggy, so choose a well-lighted room with indirect sun. This house plant is a climber and as it matures, you will need to provide support in the form of a trellis or plant stakes. Otherwise, branches may well break and will need to be removed. Given the right conditions, Monstera may send up large white, spathe-like flowers in the summer.
