Leptinella 'Platt's Black'

Brass Buttons is a low-growing, fern-like ground cover with unique bronzy-black foliage, and can handle a wide range of exposures from partial shade to full sun. Though usually winter-hardy in the Pacific NW, it may thin out or become straggly in harsher weather. Simply cut it back and it will fill out once spring arrives. Brass Buttons trails nicely in hanging baskets or container planters, and provides an interesting textural contrast. Small button-like flowers will surface in the summer, but may be difficult to spot due to their coloring.
