This variety is great for growing in pots, and is all the sweeter when grown in cooler weather, so plant it in early spring, or for a late fall crop, plant at the end of summer.
Product Description
Product Description
'Nero di Toscana' is an Italian kale, aka Dinosaur or Lacinato kale. Much more upright with narrower leaves than other kales, it grows well in pots. Grow in sun to partial sun, though it produces the sweetest leaves in cooler weather. Harvest outer leaves only, leaving two-thirds of the plant to continue growing. After the initial season of harvesting the leaves, don't pull out the plant. Chances are you'll get kale flowers in early spring, and those tops (sometimes sold as kale raab or rapini) are equally delicious, stir-fried or steamed.
