Juniperus conferta 'Blue Pacific'

It's rather ironic that a plant that is considered an exceptional ground cover is such a slow grower. 'Blue Pacific' shore juniper is a favorite due to its wonderful blue-green coloring, dense foliage, and easy care; however, it will take its time reaching its maximum spread of six to eight feet wide, so patience is required. Growing no more than a foot tall, 'Blue Pacific' requires no pruning, and has little appeal to deer or rabbits. Use it on hillsides, retaining walls, hanging baskets, and container planters, anywhere trailing/sprawling growth is desired.

To clarify, "slow" growth usually means up to six inches of growth per year. The speed of growth depends upon environmental factors such as the amount of sun and water needed and given, and the soil itself. Junipers don't like soggy feet and are even fairly drought tolerant once established, but until that happens, they will need regular watering, especially during hot weather.
