Juncus tenuis 'Blue Dart'

In their native habitats, rushes are often found in wetlands and boggy areas with full sun exposures, spreading slowly through underground rhizomes. 'Blue Dart' is a compact variety that serves well as the vertical interest in container planters, and is equally happy along pond edges and other areas that tend to stay wet. The narrow rounded blades will have better color when grown in full sun, taking on blue tones. 'Blue Dart' handles maritime Pacific NW winters well, but if the foliage browns out, simply cut it back in late winter before the new growth emerges.
