Its common name of Water Iris denotes its ability to thrive in standing water, making it an excellent choice for lining ponds or those boggy spots of the garden.
Product Description
Product Description
This Japanese water iris may be the answer for those gardeners with "problem" areas that drain poorly or actually have standing water. The cream and green strap leaves are beautiful by themselves, but when the elegant blue/purple flowers appear, it's like having a live bouquet in the garden. The blooms are especially striking, with a narrow white stripe (called a signal) on the falls. This iris blooms best in full sun, but will tolerate some shade.
Note: water irises may naturalize if they like their growing environment, so don't be surprised if that small clump grows into a four-foot patch.
