Ipomoea 'Bright Ideas Black'

Sweet Potato Vine is a hands-down favorite as a dependable, sometimes extravagantly lush trailer for summer hanging baskets and container planters. While some varieties will literally trail four to five feet long, 'Bright Ideas Black' is a bit more restrained, staying around two feet in length. Long enough to cover most hanging baskets, it works well for shorter container planters that sit on the ground. Its less vigorous length in no way takes away from its "wow" factor, as the deeply lobes foliage maintains a deep burgundy to almost black coloring, adding a bit of drama and wonderful contrast to other summer bloomers.
