Like many perennials, red hot pokers take their time making an entrance, often weeks after most annuals have been putting on a show. 'Mango Popsicle' will add that true orange color to the garden from summer into the fall, standing tall enough to be placed at mid-border, and acting as a flashy backdrop for those earlier bloomers. Thriving in full sun, the narrow flower stalks also add textural interest, and attract hummingbirds and pollinators. Drought tolerant once established, kniphofias aren't usually appealing to deer, and they're great cut flowers.
