Hosta 'Orange Marmalade'

'Orange Marmalade' Plantain Lily is rather chameleonic, changing from a blue-green color in the spring to green-edged, orange-gold centers in the summer, then ending the season with pure white centers edged in green. Leaves are slightly ridged, adding a textural interest as well. The colorful foliage mounds up to 18 inches, with lavender flower stalks rising well above the leaves in mid-summer, attracting hummingbirds and other pollinators. Cut back the flower stalks once spent to promote foliar growth. 'Orange Marmalade' is a welcome addition to shady garden borders, hanging baskets (when young), or container planters.
