Blue-green, heavily textured leaves can reach almost two feet in height and may spread up to three feet wide. 'Halcyon' may take a few years to achieve its maximum size, but its foliage is dense enough to suppress weeds. Keep hostas well watered and watch for slugs. Those nasty pests love the broad lush foliage almost as much as hummingbirds love the tall flower stalks.
